Getbhavcopy format – 02 Nov 2010 NSE EOD Data
28 sec read
Information from Market Hypothesis that,
Volume digger has recently updated their data down loader for NSE EOD. Mr. Joydeep, author of http://www.volumedigger.com, has informed me today. It has the same format like GetBhavcopy.You need not to do any changes in settings. Its working fine now. Download the recent copy of data downloader from Volume Digger
[wp_ad_camp_5]
Yeah it had worked fine. But the extracted data contains slight deviation with the getbhavcopy software ascii format as in volume digger the ticker symbols of indices
differ when compared to the ticker symbols of getbhavcopy indices and more over vix and CNX IT are missing in Volume Digger’s Data Downloader. Rest everything is fine Download Getbhavcopy format – 02 Nov 2010 NSE EOD Data

Thanks marketcalls for posting this blog
Thanks a lot Mr. Joydeep for making new version of Volume digger.
Both volumedigger & Getbhavcopy get their data from NSE website hence tickerwise they are almost same.
Till the time GBC is not working one can copy existsing AB database and import quotes generated with Volumedigger. They will overlap except Indices. One can merge the old indices with new one.
However I found volume for S&PNIFTY ticker in Volumedigger much lesser than the NSENIFTY ticker got from GetBhavCopy. Is their any descripancy in the index data from Volumedigger or am I making any mistake?
Hi Rajendran,
The indices are passed as input parameters. The existing files in data downloader has them wrong. Please change the content of the file named:”NSE Indices.txt” to these which are copied from NSEINDIA site –
S&P CNX NIFTY
CNX NIFTY JUNIOR
CNX IT
BANK NIFTY
INDIA VIX
CNX 100
S&P CNX DEFTY
S&P CNX 500
CNX MIDCAP
NIFTY MIDCAP 50
CNX INFRA
CNX REALTY
I got the values for all of them.
Regards,
Rajib
Yeah Thanks Rajib.
Corrected those values. Volume Digger contains wrong Volume information for Indices alone. Also re uploaded the data for 02, Nov 2010.
Also Rajib i had done a Excel VBA to download the Bhavcopy data from NSE India portal as a Zip file. Able to extract the csv content using VBA code itself do you need that code. Hope that could help with your start up.
@Yashodhan
Yeh problem in volume digger in updating with the indices alone.
I had corrected mine. Kindly cross-verify it once again
yes volume is less than actual in volumedigger cnxnifty. i have compared with chartnexus
@Kalyan
I think its just a small glitch with volume digger possibly will get resolved soon i guess.
@ Rajendran,
Yeah that will be a great help … plz fwd me the zip.
infact now that volumedigger is downloading those .txt files for indices … I can now merge them in one single .txt file with vba, I think.
Meanwhile I hope Hemen fixes the problem … 🙂
@Rajib,
Posted my VBA code in marketcalls as a post. Hope it works for you!
Hi Rajandran,
Thanks for the EOD data.
However, I found a major problem in the data.
There are some duplicate entries which are overwriting symbol data Metastock database.
Appreciate if you could correct these.
I do not know how many more duplicate entries are there.

Ghansyam K.
@Ghansyam,
Thanks for the Exploration. The Error caused because i had taken both the data of EQ/BE and other Categories. Now i had posted the EQ alone hope now there wont be any mismatch and would be 100% error free.
Hi Rajendran,
I have developed a maekshift arrangement which will make one single text file after we have downloaded from “Data Downloader”.
This also takes care of the GetBhavCopy format of Indices names.
I think this is working fine. How do I send it across to you for others benefit?
