NOW, NEST, TT, ODIN , Excel to Amibroker live data

[this a Extract from Kanitkar’s Blog could be useful for our visitors just to save my time doing the copy paste here.]

Recently I gone thru utility created by Josh. this utility really helps. Now you can get live data from your trading terminal to charting software for free.

For easy implementation of this utility I have prepared video tutorial.

This utility can save some good money. It’s boon to retail traders who are trading around 10 symbols at max.
This utility fetch realtime datafeed from NOW, NEST, ODIN, Google, Yahoo, to Excel 2007 and pull it into AmiBroker and Fcharts. The good part is utility is open source and free. It also have feature to backfill data from terminal. Every day eod, you should backfill data for new symbols or old symbols (if your terminal was down for sometime).

You can also use http://www.volumedigger.com/Software/Data_Downloader.aspx for data backfill from google or yahoo.

Please understand this is not replacement for data being provided by data vendors. Data provided by approved data vendors is really fast & light weight and highly reliable. Data vendors applications are well tested, scalable, reliable, supported solutions as well.

Here are all links.

    Dear Rajandran,

There is a problem with using LTQ as volume field in the rt3 rtg3 utility.
The LTQs accumulate as per the time frame set in amibroker, bu the total is not same as the volume field in nest.
The nestplus backfill changes the volume no, which we get from the live data feed from excel.

Please help, as with incorrect volume data the whole analysis is jeopardized.

    Regards
    Aniruddha

Hi rajandran, please help me with the volume problem as the nest to excel does not shows proper volume data. It show the volume difference for each tick instead of the timeframe as a whole.
Suppose that I select a 15 mins chart the volume during this timeframe is (Close-open ) 500000. But the volume chart shows change in volume for each tick in the volume chart. So incase at the end of 15min the volume change in last tick was 1000, it shows 1000 as the volume and not 500000.
