Q : Why only 15 symbols per segment ?
A : Some traders trade only in limited no. of securities. They do not want to track many symbols simultaneously. So this new option gives them a chance to lower their data subscription price. Traders can control their costs by buying additional symbols in multiples of 10 for Rs.135/- per month. In fact 15 simultaneous symbols is much better than 1 symbol at a time (option provided by many data vendors).

Q : But there are thousands of symbols. How only 15 symbols per segment can fulfill our requirements ?
A : You are missing something. You can choose ANY 15 symbols whose data you want to track SIMULTANEOUSLY. It means that you can switch the symbols as and when you want – unlimited no. of times – during live market.

Q : I don’t understand. Can you please explain with an example ?
A : Sure – here it goes. Lets say you are watching realtime charts of following 15 symbols simultaneously : NIFTY-I, NIFTY-II, NIFTY-III, NIFTY11JUL5500CE and INFY-I. Then for some reason, you want to see chart of TCS-I. Since you have already consumed limit of 15 simultaneous charts, remove any of the symbols (say NIFTY-III) from DataDesk first (not for charting platform) and then load chart of TCS-I. Now, you are seeing charts of NIFTY-I, NIFTY-II, NIFTY11JUL5500CE, INFY-I and TCS-I. Likewise you can add any new symbols by first removing old symbols.

Q : But I need to track 20-22 symbols simultaneously. How can I do this ? How much will it cost me ?
A : You can subscribe for additional 10 symbols by paying just Rs.135/- extra per month. If you are paying annually, your cost will be Rs.2,220/- per month (Rs.2085/- + Rs.135/-) for watching charts of 20 symbols simultaneously – not to forget that you will be able to view realtime charts in multiple charting applications (see list of supported platforms below).
