Marketcalls – Chennai Amibroker Workshop – Gallery
Place : Hotel Park View, Chennai
Date : 21st & 22nd Dec, 2013

First of all I personally thank Mr Ravi Shengodan, Authorized Zerodha’s Partner – Tamilnadu for Organizing this Workshop. A lot of Interactiveness and lot of complex Strategies and Concepts discussed in the workshop and 20+ participants attended the workshop and able to see people from Maharastra, Kerala, Andra Pradesh, Karnataka.

What We Discussed in the workshop?

It is more of a practical workshop style rather than a typical seminar speech where people come and get comfortable not only in learning with Amibroker but also with Trading System Analysis , Evaluation, Validation of a Trading System, Risk Management and Money Management Skills.

1)The Course is completely focused on Risk Management rather than sticking to profit making ideas!
2)And More Focused on non predictive methodologies using mathematical models rather than predictive methodologies which is the key for understanding algo trading concept.

3)Making People Independent in Amibroker Concepts like Backtesting , Optimization, Walk Forward Testing, Monte Carlo Analysis.
4)Discussed Advance Risk Control Methodologies like Trading the Equity Curve, Drawdown Control Measures and How to run your own mutual fund using portfolio timing models.
5)Viewing Trading as a business using Strategic Models rather than view trading system as a gambling machine.
6)Practical Trading Scenarios and Risk involved in following Trading system. How to understand the risk and how to control the same.
7)Who Should do automated trading? Types of Vendors, Softwares, Risk involved in Such Practices.
8)How to choose the timeframe for the trading system.

It is almost a practical workshop with Amibroker which is very much deviated from a normal seminar session. Thank You people for travelling down south and for your bunch of interactive questions and participation in the Workshop. Hope you had spend two days of your time more qualitatively with us!

In the Next workshop we are targetting Mumbai during mid of April -2014 with even more interesting concepts and ideas! Stay tuned for updates!

  1. Please give at least a month’s advance notice, if possible, of the next meeting, so that I can arrange my appointments accordingly. Would very much like to attend the Mumbai meet.

  2. July for Mumbai may not be the best time as heavy rains can disrupt the entire city & prevent travel to & from the venue. I would suggest May 3rd week as a safer time period.
