About

Traders Carnival is a trader centric event organised and entirely run by a group of Traders Carnival community volunteers for traders in the financial markets. It does not represent the interests of any commercial entity. Traders’ Carnival started out as a means of keeping in touch with trading buddies in a social environment. It started out with 5 friends meeting over a few beers on a lazy Saturday afternoon at the old Bowring Institute in Bangalore.

What started out as a few friends meeting for a beer whilst discussing their trading experiences slowly grew into a group where over a hundred traders met at Bangalore in October 2012. Costs for the meet were shared, and it slowly progressed into a residential program to escape the caveat of a 6 pm closure. #TC2012 saw this group of traders huddled over discussions till around 2 am, and again, ready for a 7am start.

The canvas of this meeting expanded to traders from outside Bangalore and progressively, subsequent Traders Carnival events saw traders coming in from all over India & even some from abroad.

The first Traders Carnival #TC2012 held at the ECC – Ecumenical Christian Centre at Whitefield, Bangalore, set in a sprawling 28 acres of greenery, was kicked off on October 26th, 2012 at Bangalore, a two day residential event. Over a hundred traders participated in this event holistic and detailed Strategy Technical Analysis sessions, Trade Psychology sessions, and indulged in brainstorming, late into the night. Traders Carnival gradually evolved into an annual THREE day residential event for traders. We had ten experts sharing their strategies at the event. They trade these strategies themselves, and over half of them continue to trade for a living.

#TC2012 also had a session on regulatory content – RBI, SEBI, by Deepak Shenoy, a co-founder at MarketVision, which is about financial education and spreading awareness on markets and financial products to Indian consumers and businesses.

The icing on the cake at the Bangalore event : A session on Trader Psychology by a veteran trader of over 28 years in the markets, Sriram B. This wily fox is an acknowledged expert on ‘hit and run’ strategies which, as past years have showed, have an excellent track record.

#TC2013 was held in Pune whereas #TC2014 took place in the lovely land of beaches ‘Goa’.

This is an attempt to let the retail trader know.

There is a method to the madness.
